Give what belongs to Caesar to me

Remember when Jesus said “Give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar”? How laughable! If only He was around in today’s world. Nothing belongs to Caesar anymore, not even Caesar’s birthright. If Caesar snoozes, Caesar looses! It’s as simple as that! Do you also remember that part in the bible that says “the violent taketh it by force”? Well, that is definitely the only way Caesar is “probably” getting what belongs to him in today’s world. Nobody cares about Caesar! Before I dive into the main content of this article, I want you all to know that the masses such as you and I who are on the receiving end of the government’s ignorant actions are the “Caesar”.

Now here’s what this translate to in our present world today. The sweats of the masses such as civil servants, low-income traders and retirees in the form of tax payments and other government benefits are being used by politicians and government officials to fund their flamboyant lifestyles. They have been made to believe that tax payment is a compulsory socio-economic activity by law that ensure salary earners and income earners give back to the government under the guise of utilizing them to facilitate building and maintenance of social infrastructures, improving the welfare of their citizens and all of that fake nonsense they always say. Instead, government officials use these tax payer funds to elevate their lives and those of their family.

Tax payer funds are being misused by government officials to acquire luxurious assets such as private jets, armored cars, expensive vacation overseas, funding of personal problems such as legal suites, medical trips abroad. Imagine a politician using tax payer money to hire heavy weight lawyers such as senior advocates for his own personal legal battles in court. Don’t get me even started on how civil servant pensioneers are being denied their rightful pensions and gratuities. Now you see why not even Caesar’s birthright belongs to him? In western countries such as the United States of America, tax payer funds are being used by the government to rescue large companies from bankruptcy while their capitalist owners continue to get fat knowing that their billions are well kept safely in the banks.

The funny side of this story is that, the government deems tax evasion a serious and punishable offense but these capitalist are well known for evading tax and avoiding payments of other government remits. I guess they are the societal class of Caesars that get to keep what belongs to them because they never gave it out in the first place and they still do not get punished for it most times especially in continents like Africa. What a joke!! In most cases, the masses are left with no choice but to protest or riot against the government. And this brings us to that part the bible said “the violent taketh it by force”.

Protesting is a civil right the masses “think” they have and can exercise if they are displeased with the government. Well, in some parts of the world, this is the one birthright that Caesar gets to keep but in some other part of the world especially in the African and Asian continent, this birthright is still taken away from Caesar. Citizens are slaughtered, punished or ignored for protesting against the government or probably against a politically-influential company. Nothing belongs to Caesar especially in Africa.

Right now, it is “You versus the government” or should I say “Caesar versus the government” and trust me, Caesar is going down! This is because the governments of this present world do not joke when it comes to forcefully taking benefits that do not rightfully belong to them. When it comes to citizens versus the government in any dispute, the governments always win.

Do you think Caesar can get what rightfully belongs to him? Or will he have to fight fire with fire? Well, at this point, I want to believe Caesar is open to all options.
